Our mission is to introduce Conceptual Model-based Mathematics Intervention Tutoring (COMMIT) programs that are designed to build up math reasoning and problem solving ability of students with learning difficulties in mathematics (LDM). On the basis of the integrating best practice from mathematics education and special education, the Purdue University team has created a web-based COMMIT program that addresses additive reasoning and problem solving of elementary students with LDM, titled COMMIT-A. COMMIT-A focuses on addition and subtraction word problem solving; it provides interventions that are tailored to each individual student's learning profile in real time.
